Guildhall Birthday Weekend A Great Success.
The Guildhall Shopping Centre want to thank the droves of Staffordians who turned out to help celebrate their 20th birthday last weekend.
More than 58,000 people visited the centre between Friday and Sunday to take in the ‘Working Life in Stafford’ photographic exhibition, the VIP birthday party and the appearance of children’s TV stars Fifi and Bumble.

A Boost for Furniture Exchange
Local charity, Stafford Furniture Exchange have reported that during March and April, whilst they occupied a shop unit in the Guildhall, they had their most successfull month ever since the charity was established. During the 2 months they sold more than 125 items of furniture that would have been destined for a landfill site and recruited no less than 17 new volunteers of all ages, who are all proving to be very reliable and no less than 7 of them have gone back into paid work.

20th Anniversary plans announced!
On Friday 10th June 2011 the Guildhall Shopping Centre will celebrate its 20th Anniversary and to mark the occasion will host a weekend of community focused activities and events.
A photographic exhibition depicting Stafford over the last 20 years (and more) will be opened on Friday 10th June and popular children’s characters Fifi Forget-Me-Not and Bumble will be appearing at the centre at various intervals on 11th & 12th June.

Chocolate giveaway raises money for charity!
The Guildhall Shopping Centre recently did a free chocolate giveaway and many of our customers made donations to our charity, The Donna Louise Children's Hospice. We are pleased to announce that £89.20 was collected on the day and both the charity and the Guildhall would like to thank everyone for their generosity.

Great news for Stafford's Furniture Exchange!
Local charity Stafford Furniture Exchange, are delighted to have opened a store within the Guildhall Shopping Centre, thanks to the generosity of the Guildhall Management.
The bright new shop allows the display of recycled unused furniture, which the charity sells at a low price to people on low income.

Shakeaway Shuts.
ShakeAway in the Guildhall Shopping Centre has shaken its last shake. The sad news today (15th Feb 2011) is that ShakeAway have gone into administration and have closed at least 10 stores across the country.
We are really sorry to see them go and wish the team in the shop every success for the future.

The Original CupCake Company opens in the Guildhall.
The most delightful little cupcakes are now being sold from the newest retail unit to open at the Guildhall. Situated just outside Poundland, is the Original Cupcake Company selling hand made, hand-decorated cupcakes in a variety of flavours including Luscious Lemon, Chocolate Cherry Surprise and Strawberry Vanilla Surprise.

The Cat Who Went to Live at Shugborough
A book signing will be held at Waterstone’s Guildhall Centre branch on Saturday 29 January at 11.30am. The story, 'I Am a Cat' by local author Louise Hudson, is about a girl who becomes a cat and who goes to live at Shugborough. It has been selling so well, after signings throughout the West Midlands and Birmingham, that Louise has been invited back to Waterstone’s to mark the second birthday of the book’s publication.

Guildhall Shop unit available - FREE OF CHARGE
Calling all local charities and community groups! If you are a registered charity and would like to have FREE use of an empty shop unit, then read on....
The Guildhall Shopping Centre will have a shop unit available with effect from 23rd December 2010. The unit, previously occupied by CMD Womenswear, would be a perfect opportunity to have a town centre presence without the expense of rates or service charge. In fact the only costs would be for insurance and utilities.
The unit has approximately 1,600 sq ft of retail space and would be ideal for art or photographic exhibitions, retail, drop-in centre activities or for many other possible uses.

Charities receive a Christmas bonus.
We have now counted and distributed the funds collected during Santa's Christmas Parade on Saturday 21 November and we are pleased to announce that we raised an amazing £925.74.
Each of our three chosen charities have received £308.58! This year's beneficiaries were The Donna Louise Children's Hospice,Canine Partners and Staffordshire Search and Rescue. We would like to send a great big "THANK YOU" to the people of Stafford who, once again, have demonstrated their amazing generosity.

Free Christmas Decorations.
The Guildhall Shopping Centre is offering Christmas bar-swags to anyone that can offer them a good home.
The Guildhall has recently purchased a new decorative scheme for the shopping centre and is now wanting to dispose of its old decorations. They are in very reasonable condition and each bar-swag is about 4ft in length and is decorated with Christmas baubles and lights. There are approximately 25 bar-swags that would be ideal for decorating shops, public areas, schools, restaurants, etc.

There is no charge for the decorations but they would need to be collected and transported at your own expense. If you are interested in all of them, or even one or two of them, then do get in touch before we make alternative arrangements to dispose of them.

Guildhall's Santa Parade a triumph.
The Guildhall's Santa Parade was a triumph of colour and music on Saturday as Santa arrived in Stafford Town Centre with his real reindeer, marching bands and carnival floats.
The crowds lined the streets to await the arrival of Shaun the Sheep, Jingle the Jester, Smokie and the Naughty Elves and a vast array of fancy dress characters. Our carnival princess, Jada Gurden, smiled and waved to the waiting crowds as she was carried in a horsedrawn glass carriage. Stoke City Manager, Tony Pulis and the team's mascot Pottermus joined in the parade as they wound their way through the town centre.

Gimme Gizmo opens at the Guildhall Shopping Centre
The Guildhall are pleased to announce the opening of Gimme Gizmo. The gift and ideas shop opened its doors on Thursday 4th November and has occupied the biggest unit in the shopping centre which was previously occupied by Mothercare. You can get all your Christmas shopping wrapped up by visiting the new store which has hundreds of gift ideas for all the family.

The Pie & Ale House have announced their Christmas menu and details of their New Years Eve Party.

Simon Cowell look-a-like and his fans.
X-Factor fans had to take a "double-take" on Saturday when they saw who they thought was Simon Cowell walking through the malls at the Guildhall Shopping Centre.
Timed to co-incide with the start of X-Factor auditions on the television, 'Simon' posed for photographs with many of his fans.

The Fragrance Shop prepares for Golden Ticket Giveaway.
The Fragrance Shop in the Guildhall is preparing for their Golden Ticket Giveaway promotion, which starts on the 31st of August.
To celebrate their latest fragrance launches, The Fragrance Shop are giving customers everywhere the opportunity to win big prizes, including "money can't buy" exclusive city breaks.

Despite a difficult trading period, the Guildhall can report that a new tenant has signed up and will be opening soon in the shopping Centre.

Dress Like the WAGS a great success
"Dress Like the WAGS" took place on Saturday 3rd July and was a glittering event of summer fashions, make-up makeovers, live music and colour technology. Latest fashions from Wallis, Evans, Store Twenty One, Carbon, CMD Womenswear and Jeff Bains shoes and bags were featured and then with the addition of stylish accessories, different looks were created for different occasions.

O2 Store closes for refit
The O2 store in the Guildhall would like to inform their customers that they will be closing for a refit on Saturday 10th July and will re-open on Saturday 31st July. Store Manager Keir Bellamy said "We are very excited about the new modern shopfit that is planned for the store. We know this will be a little inconvenient for our customers but we are sure the new shop refit will be well worth waiting for".
Customers are advised that the nearest alternative store is the one in the Potteries Centre in Hanley.
