Could you be Stafford’s Superhero?
An exciting new challenge has been launched to find Stafford’s Superhero. The Guildhall Shopping Centre in association with The Donna Louise Children’s Hospice and Esporta Health Club are searching for the person that can rise to the challenge and complete a number of Superhero tasks. These tasks include:
- completing the Stafford Half Marathon (or the equivalent distance on a treadmill)
- A 45 minute static power cycle
- Abseiling a 100 ft building
- Swimming 20 lengths against the clock
- Rowing the furthest in 30 minutes
The competition will commence with Stafford’s Half Marathon on Sunday 21st March and culminate with an abseil from the top of a building over 100 foot high during Children’s Hospice Week (15-22 May 2010).
Demand for places in the Half Marathon has been incredible and has far outstripped the number of places available. However, the organizers of the Stafford Superhero event have secured 10 places in the Half Marathon which will be available to Superhero candidates. Don’t despair though – even when the 10 Half Marathon places have been allocated, Superhero entrants will be able to complete this part of the challenge on the running machines at Esporta Health Club in Stafford. Over the following 9 weeks, entrants will have to complete the other grueling tasks, all the time being monitored and checked by the trained fitness instructors at Esporta.
